I did not plan to become an entrepreneur again.
After 20 years with the same company, I believed my next chapter would be secure. I had worked in several roles, cities and countries. Then, after a challenging period in New York, the head office closed everything down.
There was no warning and no transition. Suddenly, the career I had known for two decades was over.
My journey from resumes to revenue was about to begin.
Choosing Family First
I had already decided to return to London.
It was not because of a new job. I wanted my son to grow up closer to his father, who lives in Europe.
Family came first, and I trusted that everything else would fall into place.
However, it did not happen as easily as I expected.
I sent out job applications and received rejection after rejection. I also felt a strong resistance towards returning to traditional employment.
Even my career coach noticed it.
She said, “Maybe you are not meant to be employed anymore.”
That thought stayed with me.
Building Something That Fitted
I stopped chasing roles that no longer felt right. Instead, I started building something that did.
I began where I was.
I used the knowledge, skills and experience I already had. Then, I focused on what I could do next.
I created structure, developed new skills and invested in coaches who could support me. Doubt still appeared, but I continued moving forward.
The process was not glamorous, and the results were not instant.
However, it was real.
Most importantly, the business is still going strong.
Turning Experience Into a Business
My journey from resumes to revenue taught me that experience does not disappear when a job ends.
The knowledge you have gained can become the foundation of something new.
Today, I use my experience to help creative entrepreneurs build businesses that work.
I support:
-
Jewellery designers
-
Painters and visual artists
-
Designers
-
Creative founders
-
Multi-talented entrepreneurs
Together, we turn creative ideas into structured, revenue-generating businesses.
Start With What You Have
Here is what I know for sure:
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
You do not need to have every answer before you begin.
You can start with your current skills, your experience and the resources already available to you. Then, you can build from there.
A coach can also help you see opportunities that may be difficult to recognise on your own.
Strategy Is Only One Part
Strategy is important, but it is not enough on its own.
You also need:
-
Clarity
-
Structure
-
Support
-
Accountability
-
Practical guidance
The right support can help you make stronger decisions and move forward with greater confidence.
It can also help you stop guessing and start building with purpose.
Build the Future You Want
Losing a long-term career was not part of my plan.
However, it gave me the opportunity to create a different future.
I built a business that allows me to use my experience, support creative entrepreneurs and create more freedom in my own life.
Now, I help others do the same.
Are you ready to stop winging it and build a business that gives you more consistent income and creative freedom?
Let’s talk.
I am here for it, and I am here for you.
